AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations reverberate through the shadows." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret group.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This update also brings the game's newest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
