One extended voyage through the Land Down Under is being halted days after the death of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the vessel on a isolated coastal location.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with other travelers from the vessel, but broke off from the excursion for a pause. The ship departed without her and came back later that day after the ship staff became aware the passenger was unaccounted for.

An extensive rescue mission found her body the following day.

Authorities are investigating the event, in coordination with investigators and the state coroner.

The CEO of the shipping company stated that travelers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the continuation of the journey had been called off due to the "unfortunate death and prior mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that passengers would be given a total repayment, and said the company was working "to arrange the return journeys of the travelers via chartered flights".

Authorities also released an latest statement, and said they had "provided a directive to the Master" banning any additional guests from entering the ship.

The spokesperson said that they would attend the ship in Cairns upon its arrival.
